Her Personal Style:  I LOVE adding  interior architecture appropriate for the home, real wood and marble, a touch of shine.  Buy the best quality the budget can afford.

“Every room needs architecture.  Modern or traditional architectural elements add REAL design.  When everything is just decorated, it can look too weak.”  Jen Kemzuro

What’s your …

  1. Favorite mirror:  A Chinoiserie style mirror with a pagoda design finished in a beautiful white lacquer.
  2. Favorite coffee table: Baker’s No. 3453-1 designed by Barbara Barry this iron coffee table has been copied by many – no one gets the X base quite right – Oh but Miss Barbara Barry’s refined elegance is hard to duplicate.
  3. Wall covering: Martinique Banana Leaf Wallpaper.  It’s almost too bold but I just love all those pretty green leaves – it makes me crazy happy!
  4. Best cheap accessory:  Woven baskets from import stores to hide our messiness.
  5. Best $100 or less quick change: One can of paint in your favorite color.  Repaint something you already have, a lamp, small side chair, cocktail table… COLOR CHANGES EVERYTHING
  6. Sofa:  A. Rudin a “must sit in” any style is the perfect pitch and comfort.  I love the style of the A. Rudin Sofa 2513 it’s so reto-modern, midcentury, ‘Mad Men’ Style Sexiness.
  7. Go-to fabric: Solid Linen neutral (taupe, tan, khaki, cream, ivory, etc…)
  8. Rug choice: Either a family heirloom true antique Oriental rug or sisal (hooked wool will also do)
  9. Chair: Bakers No. 2543 Governor Alston Arm Chair, all my favorite things on this; those overlapping circles on the back, saber legs, cane seat, it’s regal and classic.
  10. Rule you break:  Granite is the best countertop choice for resale… If everyone had a builder spec house we would all have neutral granite…boring.   Do what you love, I LOVE real white marble – it’s glorious!
